We're finally here!  After weeks of planning/preparation the Spike Bus made it to Penn Relays and we're having a blast!

We got in yesterday, and the moment I saw the preliminary set up of the Nike Spike Room I was in shock... It's humongous!  No exaggeration necessary, I had no idea it was going to be as big as it is.

I know that I've already emphasized the T-Shirt and Bag customization in previous posts, but we also have so many other amazing things to do here as well!  A big hit today has been the Nike Barbershop, that's been doing FREE hair braiding and trims... Yea, you didn't hear me wrong.  There's a Nike Barbershop!  Ridiculous.

Besides customizing your own gear there's also some pretty sweet running apparel for sale at the front of the tent.  Although the customizable gear is awesome I have to admit that the graphics on the other gear are one of a kind, and specifically oriented to Penn Relays 2010.  All the cool kids are rocking the Penn Gear. Haha.  No, really.  I love my new Nike Penn Relays 2010 hoodie :)

Over at the Spike Bus Sports Desk area there's been some crazy cool segments going on all day.  With an awesome customized desk taking up the bus's fold out stage and three humongous flat screens broadcasting some pretty sweet vids of highlights, previews, interviews, and so much more, it really couldn't get any better.  We started off the day right with an intro from our very own MC Q Deezy and Nike field reporter Sarina Morales giving us some insight into the history of Penn Relays and cool things to do around Philadelphia.  We also had some pretty big athletes up there as well today, including Dawn Harper and Trey Hardee!!!  Two very awesome people and verrrrry awesome athletes!

Dawn Harper knows a thing or two about the hurdles. She's pretty legit, I mean she did a little thing called win a Olympic gold medal at Beijing in 2008!  She was awesome to watch during the Track Smack segment at the Nike Spike Bus Sports Desk, giving us a little insight on what it takes to be a Olympic gold medalist and what she thinks about the prestigious Penn Relays.  I must admit I'm a little biased having spent the last four years going to school in LA County, so I'm pretty much a obligatory fan of all Cali athletes :)

I  was told Trey Hardee was a beast, and I agree.  Not only is he a beast on the track, as one the best decathaletes in the world, but he's a beast in person.  Towering over everyone at 6'5", he definetly was a presence atop the Nike Spike Bus Sports Desk.  Just as Dawn, Trey told us all about his experience as an athlete both when he was young and now as one of the worlds best elite athletes.  He was the 2009 world champion in the decathalon and has a best of 8790 points in the event... Which is RIDICULOUS!

Special shout out to the guys that made this uber cool site possible! Runnerspace made the trip out from Portland to come chill with the Spike Bus!  They have an awesome segment where they give the low down on everything that happened or might happen during the course of the three day event!  Thanks Runnerspace dudes for being so awesome!

So many other cool things happened, but I can't give it all away. Guess you'll just have to head over tomorrow to join in on the fun!  Maybe we'll have another dance off! :)

    More to come tomorrow!
